Day 4: Name of Language, some root words etc.

Ok, I've been devising a pronouncial conjunction (I think it's called), but I'm waiting for feedback on LJ before I post it.

Ok, Some root words:
DHILL: star.
ARRE: song/singing (say as in air)

these root words are used in the name of this language: Dhillêarre which is translated as 'Song of the Stars.'

I am going to be creating a few languages that are the children od this language. They will all use th same writing system.

I'm going to be starting world building in my new blog today!

day 3 - some new words.

The Is written as 'i' , however it is pronounced the same as the ' ê ' - see Ghilêadh.

Numë (pronounced Nu-mey) means foot.

SELL is the root word 'Death'.

Sellador means 'sword.' (pronounced as in cellar door but as one word, with some rolling of the tongue/slurring.

Day 2: accent pronunciation

I'm here to sort out some accent pronuncia
tion. This is work in progress.

  • ' ê ' is pronounced high, almost like a shortened version of ' ee '.
  • ' é ' is pronounced low, pronounced like 'ayeh'.
  • ' ë ' is pronounced low, as in 'ey' Example: 'Numê' - foot. (accent comes as Nu ' mê)

Some 'whole word' laws.
(work in progress_
  • When adding two roots together and it goes 'Consonant Vowel', a separate high vowel syllable must be added in between. EG: GHIL-ê-ADH

Day 2: Some Root words.

Here's some root words. Adding root words together, plus some starting rules for doing that is next post. (Capitol letters are always going to be the roots)

  • [GHIL = house]
  • [ADH = strong]
  • [LACH = go ] (also means to, can tell by which it makes more sense as)
  • [CRO = come]
  • [AÉRO = fire]

Day 2: Tone .

I've managed to finish a select pitch-accent system.

heres the rules for it.

  • Assign high pitch to all moras (= syllables, except that a long vowel is two moras, and a final -n or a double consonant takes up a mora too) (not definite yet on the endings, etc, currently working on just sullables.)
  • An accent is either a 'lone high vowel' "i, e" or some (all?) consonants +i, e. eg: ke, ki, re, ri, ne, ni, me, mi.
  • the moras after the accent are low.
  • endings that end with consonant +h is low.
  • if the second moras is high, the first is low.
  • all acents are high.

an example is one of my few 'formed words'

Ghilëadh (fortress) [GHIL: house] ë [ADH:strong].

  1. (3 moras) HHH
  2. accent = ë so HHL
  3. the adh is already low, so no change.
  4. the second moras is high, so the first is low LHL

Day 1:Some general thoughts.

Hi, It's day one of my ConLang Blog. If you want to see my main blog, which contains my ramblings from Animal crossing and some nice quotes, look here.

General Thoughts on text characters.

1. I'm thinking that Dipthongs may be going above the other characters- not straight above like an accent, more like a very young child learning to right- Soem letters are higher up than others- that kind of thing.

General Thoughts on speech/ transpation into latin charcters.
1. It'll be somewhat like Tolkien's Quenya- nice and flowing speech, with lots of rolling r's and l's. I'm considering a fair few lh's or dh's for that nice 'Gileadh' ending affect.
